Engelsholm International Acoustic Guitar Camp – uge 29

Kunstnerisk leder: Hans Marius Graasvold

Denne camp har tidligere år været afholdt i uge 31 og i 2026 afholdes den i uge 29.

Uanset om du er en glad amatør eller en erfaren pro, vil der være masser af inspiration på Engelsholm Guitar Camp. I ugen præsenteres diverse akustiske guitarteknikker, der får en given genrer/stilart til at lyde optimalt. Indlæringsmetoden er både visuel og sonisk, idet man aflæser både de fysiske positioner og samtidig via øret og den kropslige musikfornemmelse tilegner sig musikkens sprog.

Der arbejdes både med akkompagnement (Akkompagnement: Et musikalsk grundlag skabt gennem instrumentspil og/eller sang med henblik på at danne baggrund for en solist. Dette grundlag kan fremføres af en eller flere musikere) og solostykker, hvor kursisten/eleven både bærer melodi og harmonisering.

Undervisningen er holdbaseret, hvilket styrker den langsigtede indlæring, da kursisterne har mulighed for, både i rummet og når underviseren ikke er til stede, sammen at supplere hinanden med input fra den oplevede undervisning.

Underviserne cirkulerer rundt, så alle møder og får undervisning af hver og en af dem mindst 2×2 timer i kursusugen. Der vil også være interessante fælles foredrag om både almene og  guitarrelaterede emner.

Hver aften vil der være jamsessions og tid til at hænge ud med andre guitarnørder rundt omkring på skolen.

Kurset er en del af kunstkurset i uge 29, hvor der også er hold inden for maleri, glaspustning og keramik.

PRAKTISK

Kort om opholdet:
Under opholdet indkvarteres du på enten dobbelt- eller enkeltværelse. Værelserne fordeler sig på tre forskellige bygninger: Stuehuset, Fæstalden og Slottet. Hver bygning bidrager til opholdet med sin egen unikke charme og fordele.

Hans Marius Grassvold Engelsholm Højskole Guitar

Hans Marius Graasvold (N)

Hans Marius is a guitar player and clawhammer banjo player born and based in Skien, Norway. Over the last two decades, he has performed and recorded with a great number of artists all over Scandinavia and in the US, covering his musical heartland of americana, old time and folk and beyond. Apart from performing live, he enjoys session work and teaching guitar and banjo. Hans has released and contributed to several albums, lately «Root Notes», a duet-based album focusing on clawhammer banjo and guitar, featuring a roster of highly acclaimed fellow folk music artists. A mainstay at the Engelsholm Acoustic Guitar Camp, Hans Marius focuses on flatpick bluegrass guitar – and beyond, covering fiddle tunes, crosspicking techniques and how to carry yourself physically as a guitar player to improve your tone.

Courtney Hartman (US)

Courtney is an acclaimed guitarist, singer and writer from the foothills of Colorado, USA. Acoustic Guitar Magazine recognizes her as a “distinctive guitar stylist and a songwriter that delights and disturbs” while PopMatters hailed her most recent release as “a delicate light glistening softly in the darkness.” In 2014 she received a GRAMMY nomination for her work with folk quintet Della Mae, and in 2017 Americana Music Association nominated her for Instrumentalist of the Year. Courtney has created music and collaborated with a broad range of prominent artists, including Bill Frisell, Gregory Alan Isakkov and Anais Mitchell. She continues to collaborate across cultures and disciplines, always seeking to bring voice to the hushed and inexpressible. Her teaching work includes fifteen years of private instruction experience as well as faculty positions at Fretboard Summit, Silk Road’s Global Musician Workshop, Rockygrass Academy and Chris Thile’s Acousticamp. During your sessions with Courtney, you will not only broaden and perfect your technicall skills as a flatpick guitar player, but also find inspiration to add nuance and personal touch to your playing.

Herman Wildhagen

Herman is a guitarist, songwriter, and producer based in Oslo. In 2025, he released his debut album Rise Up, Keep It Down to glowing reviews from major Norwegian newspapers including Aftenposten, Dagsavisen, DN, and Gaffa. His broad musical interest extends beyond the guitar, and he also plays instruments such as pedal steel, bass, drums, and synth. He also works as a live and studio musician for artists including Thomas Dybdahl and Ingebjørg Bratland, and runs his own recording studio where he works on a wide range of musical projects. As a teacher, Herman offers deeper understanding of fingerstyle and flatpick guitar, musical harmonies and how to find voicings that suit your style of playing!

Callum McGaw

Callum is a fingerstyle guitarist from Glasgow, Scotland. As part of the younger generation of accomplished guitar players, Callum is currently among the most streamed fingerstyle guitarists in the UK, with over 60,000 followers and more than 16 million video views across his social media platforms. His original music draws heavily from Scottish and Celtic influences, combining rich melodies and intricate harmonies to create an expressive, storytelling sound. Callum began his musical journey playing heavy metal before moving into classical guitar, which eventually led him to discover fingerstyle — creating a a perfect synthesis of the two styles. A former student at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, Callum offers a deep understanding of musicality and composition, and will help broaden your approach to fingerstyle guitar and how to combine the styles that you enjoy the most!
