Audiovisual Art & VJing

In Audiovisual Art & VJing, we experiment with a range of techniques, from analog video and programming to mixing colored oils with water and projecting it onto a building. You will explore disciplines such as, video loops, projection mapping, creative coding, and we work on visual concept development, stage design, and technical setup for executing visuals for Electronic Music’s first concert.

We experiment and geek out, and we create visual experiences that you will showcase during concerts both on and off-campus. You gain insight into how the technology functions and can be used in new contexts.

It is not a requirement to have prior knowledge to start on this course – we provide comprehensive instruction. However, you should have a willingness to learn and delve into various forms of technology and artistic expressions.

Engelsholm Folk High School is the perfect creative environment for those interested in using technology as an artistic tool. Whether you prefer working on independent projects or collaborating with others on performances or installations, within your subject area or across other subjects, Engelsholm provides the space for exploration.

Equipment
In order to follow the course, you must bring a newer laptop that can handle demanding video graphics. It is also a good idea to bring an external hard drive, as we produce a lot of video files that can take up a lot of space. You will be trained in the VJ software Resolume, and you will need to purchase a license for the software for your own computer.

Project Weeks
In this project, you will work on a topic of your own choice, which you will define and formulate yourself. The project is based on the previous teaching, both theoretical and technical. Under expert guidance, you will go through all project phases: idea generation, description, argumentation, planning and execution of your product/work. Finally, the project weeks culminate in a large joint exhibition for all lines.
